Celtic Quest Research Trips
Celtic Quest, LLC, has organized a unique research opportunity for serious and experienced researchers. You may choose to participate in the Belfast trip or the Dublin trip, or combine them and research in both cities. Please note: It is required that you have at least identified the county of origin of your ancestor.
Research Objectives
Please take the time to prepare research objectives for review by the trip director. A Celtic Quest Research Objectives Form will be e-mailed to you shortly after you register. Please complete this form with as much detail as possible, including the sources for your information, and return the completed form via email. Then, before you take off for Ireland, your trip director will review and do an Assessment for up to two of your research goals (per trip) to help make your valuable research time in Ireland more productive. This will help you determine which research facilities you wish to use. Previous experience has shown that those who take advantage of this opportunity have the most research success.
Optional Evening Consultations
On certain evenings, you may schedule an appointment with your trip director to discuss and reevaluate your research objectives.
Need a Roommate to Reduce Costs?
We will assist you in finding a roommate if you would like to share a room with another researcher. Prices are per-person, Double occupancy, but Single rooms are available for a higher fee. Non-researching companions are also welcome. Please see the Rate Information page or the Registration Form for complete fee information.
Travel Arrangements
For attendee travel flexibility, participants are responsible for their own air and ground transportation. Most attendees take time before or after the research trip to tour or visit their ancestral homes.
Proof of Overseas Medical Coverage
All participants will be required to show proof of overseas medical coverage prior to submitting final payment. Travel insurance is optional and is available through AAA, Travelguard.com, and other organizations. Emergency Contact information must also be provided to the trip director.
